The Second of November is All Souls Day, or, as it is know in much of the rest of the world: Dia De Los Muertos. It is a time to honor the dead. It is also (arguably) the best Parade on the Missoula Calendar.

Bernice’s has sent a crew to march in the parade the last three years. Each year we try to make it a little different than the year before. In 2009, we were given the honor of carrying Katie the Giant Skeleton puppet. That’s her above. In 2008 We honored our founder Becky Bolinger by carrying a giant photo of her working in the bakery’s tiny kitchen. She was the original “Bernice”. 2007 was our inaugural and perhaps most memorable march, when we made like crazy dead bakers, throwing around handfuls of flour, which looked like smoke under the streetlights But we also hand out fresh baked treats every year, and hopefully, a few good natured scares. We hope to see you all at next year’s parade.
